Susquehanna shatters marks

On May 12 and 13 the men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell. Competing against mostly Division I teams, the Crusaders rose to the occasion, and numerous school records were broken.
The meet opened Saturday with distance and fields events.
Having already broken the school record in the javelin earlier in the season with a mark of 42.74 meters, freshman sprinter and thrower Gabrielle Alguire, broke her own record, while taking second place in the event with a throw of 44.54 meters.

The school record in the 10,000 meter was set by Greg Pealer in 1983 at 31:23.24. Crowe broke the 31-year old record by nearly 35 seconds.
Sophomore Ashley West turned in a fast time in her event as well. West set the second fastest time in program history in the 1500 meter. Running a 4:41.77, she took six-seconds off her original personal record.
